The Gala Evening

As a part of our fundraising efforts we held a pre-race Gala Dinner on Thursday 22nd May at Hartham Park in Corsham, Wiltshire – The home of The London Pride Spinhalers mission control.

All proceeds from this event will go directly to Asthma UK.

A huge thank you to all the Sponsors who made the Gala possible and helped us to raise a whooping total of £37,000 for Asthma UK, this includes:

  • Specialized for the pair of his and hers bikes.
  • McLaren Applied Technology for the tour of the McLaren factory and Bertinet Cookery School for the cookery course places.
  • Paul Baines of Widcombe House Investments and ACF Teambuilding & Events for the vouchers for Bath Rugby, Chelsea and Military Manoeuvres.
  • Festival in a Box for the weeks holiday in Forester’s House on Lake Atter in Austria for up to 17 people.
  • Whitecap Ltd for the once in a lifetime sailing experience aboard the Artemis Ocean Racing Yacht.
  • Peter Quintana of the High Growth Knowledge Company for the Dao Thanh Dzuy work of art.
  • Christopher Allerton Photography and Mercedes for the Portrait sitting voucher and use of an SLK for the weekend.
  • Hartham Park for the Private Dining Experience in the Library for up to 16 people.

We also wish to thank those involved in the Balloon Raffle which certainly started the proceedings with a bang!

Gala Evening 026David Trick was on hand as Master of Ceremonies, to introduce John Hall, Captain of the London Pride Spinhalers who provided insights into the Race Across America and the months of training and preparation that have gone into this challenge.  Jeffrey Thomas, Antonia’s father also spoke to share memories of Antonia and express just how important Asthma UK is to sufferers, and their families, for the support they provide.

Emma Moynihan, of Asthma UK,  presented the work they do in the fields of Research, Lobbying and Support services.

The evening was completed by an after dinner speech from Martin Bayfield who delighted the audience with stories from his rugby and policing days.
